Duke of Edinburgh’s Award:

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, known internationally as The International Award for Young People, was founded by His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh in Great Britain in 1956. Designed to help young people develop a sense of responsibility in themselves and their community by expanding their horizons, the Award has evolved into one of the most comprehensive individual development, self-training and personal achievement programs in the world.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is an exciting self-development Program available to all young people ages 14-24, equipping them with life skills to make a difference to themselves, their community and the world. To date: over 500,000 young people from Canada and over 8 million youth in 140 countries have been motivated to undertake a variety of voluntary and challenging activities.

REGISTRATION FEE: There is a small registration fee of $30.00 required to cover the cost of your record book and program administration from the program’s Divisional Office. The fee must be paid in full prior to the start of each Award Level. If successfully completed prior to leaving the squadron the sponsoring committee has agreed to reimburse the $30.00 to the participant.
