Bush Exercises are a part of the mandatory training for Air Cadets. These exercises are held on select weekends and the type and location will vary. The nature and complexity of the exercises also varies depending on the cadet training level to which they are targeted. These are always fun events that are thoroughly enjoyed by all the cadets. Cadets can check the Calendar of Events to see details of upcoming exercises.

KIT LIST and PERMISSION SLIP for FIELD TRAINING EXERCISE

All cadets must bring the following mandatory articles of personal kit:

  • Mess Kit (Cup – Plate – Fork – Spoon)
  • Personal Toiletries
  • Extra Undergarments (long underwear)
  • Extra Socks (wool preferred)
  • 2 Pair of Pants (no jeans)
  • T Shirt
  • Sweater (Optional)
  • Warm, Water Resistant Footwear (no running shoes)
  • Rain Jacket
  • Hat/toque (Cadet issued Tilley preferred)
  • Gloves or Mitts
  • Flashlight
  • Knife blade less than 6” (Optional)
  • Sleeping Bag rated to -5 Celsius (one will be provided if not available)
  • Air Mattress or Foamy (optional as will be supplied)
  • Canteen or Water Bottle
  • Small note pad and pen or pencil
  • Whistle
  • Cadet Parka
